Delhi Elections 2025: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Ramesh Bidhuri from Kalkaji Assembly seat has filed a complaint against Delhi Chief Minister and AAP candidate Atishi for allegedly filing false complaints and putting unnecessary pressure on the government.
“Atishi Marlena has hired paid workers from other constituencies to campaign. The employees mentioned cause public nuisance. They misbehaved with my party workers,” the complaint said.
“Atishi Marlena has realized her defeat, to put pressure on the government and threaten my employees with false prosecution, and has started raising baseless and false complaints,” Ramesh Bidhuri alleged.
On January 22, Atishi accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of creating an atmosphere of 'terror' in the Kalkaji Assembly constituency, with Ramesh leveling serious allegations of 'hooliganism' and use of 'blasphemy' against the workers of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). and its employees.
She said people claiming to be cousins of Ramesh Bidhuri threatened AAP workers while grabbing their collars and “burning” the campaign materials, including pamphlets.
On Thursday, Bidhuri complained: “The allegations made are not corroborated by audio-video recordings or oral testimonies of any independent witness. Recently, she filed a false and frivolous complaint against my supporter Manish Bidhuri. Even the only video relied upon does not show Manish Bidhuri being there.”
“Mrs. Marlena has also circulated a forged video to tarnish my image and influence the elections, about which I have already preferred to file a complaint with PS Kalkaji. Filing of false complaints by Ms. Atishi Marlena to exert pressure to practice on the public servants and to disturb the peaceful environment is contrary to the provisions of BNS, 2024,” the complaint added.
This comes as the Assembly elections in Delhi are nearing their start date and the chaos between AAP and BJP over several issues is intensifying. The national capital will go to the polls on February 5 and the counting of votes will take place on February 8.
A three-way battle is planned in Delhi between the ruling AAP, BJP and Congress. The Congress, which has been in power in Delhi for 15 consecutive years, has suffered setbacks in the last two Assembly elections and failed to win a seat.
AAP dominated the 2020 Assembly elections by winning 62 of the 70 seats, while the BJP got eight seats.
