Another week, another #1 for Disney’s “Encanto” soundtrack.
The album, featuring songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda, continues its blockbuster run on the Billboard chart by making up its fifth week at No. 1, beating out new releases from Yo Gotti and Mitski.
Powered by the song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” which remains the most-streamed song in the United States on Spotify — as well as a popular TikTok meme — the “Encanto” soundtrack had the equivalent of 110,000 sales last week . That was just 2 percent lower than the week before, according to Billboard’s tracking arm MRC Data.
Released nearly three months ago, “Encanto” has been in first place every week except one this year, posting stable numbers. This week’s total includes 135 million streams – last week it was 140 million; the week before sold 139 million – and 17,000 copies as a complete package. It’s the first soundtrack to hit #1 for at least five weeks since Disney’s “Frozen,” which topped 13 times in 2014.
Also this week, Atlanta rapper Gunna’s “DS4Ever” climbs a spot to No. 2 on the album chart, while veteran Memphis rapper Yo Gotti opens at No. 3 with “CM10: Free Game,” his top chart-topping hit.
Morgan Wallen’s “Dangerous: The Double Album”, a chart mainstay for over a year, is at number 4, and Mitski’s “Laurel Hell” by Mitski, an indie singer-songwriter, starts at number 5, a career high.
