Intrauterine devices are a type of birth control method.
IUD is a small T-shaped device that occupies the space in the uterus.
The process of inserting and removing a copper T is a painful experience for women. But now licensed nurse and midwife Sarah Pringle has shared a demonstration video detailing how the device can be easily pulled out after the string it’s attached to is pulled out.
Sarah shared a video on Tik Tok in which she writes that the IUD can be pulled out gently with a special tool. Sarah said this tool will slowly pull the strings out and then the IUD.
To demonstrate this practically, Sarah took a petri dish containing a silicone model of a uterus. She used this model to depict how a device is placed in and taken out of the uterus. This hands-on demonstration from Sarah showed how to remove IUDs very easily. Sarah depicted this experiment as an answer to a girl’s doubt. The doubt called for a demonstration of IUD removal as she had many high levels of anxiety from insertion.
