Public enterprises (PSUs) under the Ministry of Coal have recorded a capital expenditure of Rs 12,605.75 crore in the first nine months of the current fiscal year, a growth of 28.33 percent from Rs 9,822.28 crore in the corresponding period last year. year.
“The Ministry of Coal through its PSUs has registered a 28.33 percent year-on-year growth in capex performance for the period ending December 2021. Compared to last year, it reached Rs 9822.28 crore for the period to December 2020,” the ministry said in a statement.
The ministry said the increased capital expenditures gave a boost to the national economy hard hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Coal Ministry PSUs have done a capex of Rs 12605.75 crore, giving a significant boost to the economy hit by COVID,” it said.
The capital expenditure of Rs 12605.75 crore achieved in the period April-December 2021 is 75 percent of the Coal Ministry’s annual capex target.
