Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee on Wednesday warned the Centre and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on “borrowed time”. Lashing out the Modi-led central government, Abhishek Banerjee said, “What happened here? (the times have changed)”.
He said the prime minister is now leading a shaky, fragile and unstable coalition and a coalition government that could explode at any moment.”
“Instead of investing in the future of this country, it is unfortunate that the government is investing in Modiji's political survival at the cost of the nation's well-being,” Banerjee said.
He also warned that “the honourable Prime Minister is living on borrowed time”. He said: “…note my work and I want to end by saying thoda sabar rakhiya or kursi ka peti bandh lijiye kyunki Mausam badalne wala hai. (Hold on and fasten your seatbelts, because the weather is about to change)
Abhishek Banerjee (General Secretary of TMC party) used the #Pathaan dialogue in Lok Sabha –

Lok Sabha Speaker vs Abhishek Banerjee
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Wednesday engaged in a war of words with Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee in the Lower House over the 2024-25 budget and issues such as the now-repealed three contentious farm laws and demonetisation.
In his speech on Wednesday, Abhishek Banerjee said, “In 2020, the same Modi government unilaterally passed three contentious farm laws without any consultation with our farmers, farmers' organisations or any opposition party.”
Om Birla objected to his statement and asked to erase his “files”. He told Banerjee, “Please erase this file, the farm laws were discussed in this House for five hands and half an hour…”
When Banrejee said there was no discussion on farm laws, Birla said: “Jab Speaker Bolta hai to Bolta Hai or vo Sahi Bolta. Aap correct karo apne aap ko. Jab mai bol rha hun to mai kabhi galat nahi bolta. (When the speaker speaks, he speaks and he speaks correctly. Correct yourself. When I say something, I always say it correctly)“
Later in the debate, Om Birla asked Banerjee to speak on the current budget, while the TMC leader was highlighting the demonetisation issues. “Please speak on the current budget,” Birla told the TMC leader.

Banerjee then hit back saying, “When someone talks about Jawaharlal Nehru 60 years ago…you don't say anything. But when I talk about demonetisation that happened five years ago, you ask me to talk about current problems…that bias doesn't work.”
Speaking about the Budget 2024-25, Banerjee said the Budget was “anti-Bengal and anti-people”.
