Lok Sabha Opposition Leader and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has written a letter to US Vice President Kamala Harris. “…Under the Biden administration, India and the US have deepened cooperation on issues of global importance. Our shared commitment to democratic values will continue to guide our friendship…” Rahul Gandhi wrote in his letter to Harris.
“I would like to congratulate you on your spirited presidential campaign. Your unifying message of hope will continue to inspire many,” the letter read, adding: “As Vice President, your (Kamala Harris) determination to bring people together and find common ground will be remembered.”
“I wish you all the best in your future endeavors,” the letter ended.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, in her first news conference since Tuesday's election, blamed “global headwinds” for Democrats' loss in the 2024 US presidential election.
Pierre said that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have accepted the US election results and that one cannot rewrite history.
“President Biden and Vice President Harris accepted the choice the country made. We cannot rewrite history and we must remember what happened in 2022. Coming out of the 2022 midterm elections, we saw successful midterm elections for Every new administration over 60 years ago was the result of the president's policies… that were popular with the American people,” she said.
