Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse had the Molineux stadium on his feet when he executed an inch-perfect free-kick against Wolves in a Premier League encounter on Saturday. Ward-Prowse’s technical masterclass helped him bury the ball in the top right corner of the goal. The stunning goal was barely celebrated by the goalscorer as the whole team rushed to the halfway line to resume the game to save time. Despite this wonder strike, however, Southampton was lost 1-3 when Adam Traore scored in stoppage time to take the home side’s three points.
The video of the free kick goal was shared by Southampton FC’s Instagram handle with a caption celebrating Ward-Prowse’s genius.
“There’s magic in those boots. #saintsfc.”
Raul Jimenez opened the scoring for Wolves on a penalty 37 minutes into the game, helping the home side take a crucial lead, despite Southampton retaining most of the ball.
Conor Coady doubled the lead for Wolves 14 minutes into the second half as Southampton were forced to change their tactics and attack more to create chances to score goals.
The game seemed over and dusted before Ward-Prowse gave his team a glimmer of hope in the closing minutes of the game.

Traore, however, put an end to any hopes of a Southampton comeback with a stunning goal in the 91st minute to seal a win.
