BJP MP Jagannath Sarkar said minorities in Bangladesh are facing serious threats and only Prime Minister Narendra Modi can ensure their safety and protect their properties.
He also stressed the need for urgent measures to protect the interests of these minorities. Mishra said ANNI-“There are planned attacks on the minorities in Bangladesh. Their properties are being looted. The army has support there. This will be a threat to our country in the future. Our Prime Minister Naredra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah took the initiative to grant citizenship to minorities, so it is their responsibility to protect them now. Action should be taken quickly. Only Prime Minister Modi can handle such situations and save them.”

“I am speaking as a member of the Hindu Bengal Unit. I do not care who forms the government in Bangladesh. My only concern is that no damage is done to the lives and properties of the minorities,” he stressed.
The political situation in Bangladesh remains volatile after Sheikh Hasina stepped down amid escalating protests. Initially sparked by students demanding the abolition of the quota system for government jobs, the demonstrations have escalated into widespread anti-government protests.
At least 135 people, including 14 police officers, have been killed in recent clashes in Dhaka, according to local media, and hundreds more have been injured.

Following her resignation, Sheikh Hasina arrived in India on Monday evening. It is uncertain whether she will remain in Delhi or move elsewhere, with speculation that she could travel to London.
In response to the crisis, the Cabinet Committee on Security met at the Prime Minister’s residence on Monday. The meeting, attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, focused on the situation in Bangladesh, with senior officials also present for the briefing.
