New Delhi: Domestic stock indices are likely to trade green on Thursday, based on signals from global markets. A global equity rally continued in early Asian trading and the safe-haven dollar was on the back foot as markets cheered on positive signals about the impact of the ommicron variant of Covid-19 and US economic data. Trends on SGX Nifty pointed to a positive open for the home markets. Nifty Futures on the Singapore Exchange, also known as the SGX Nifty Futures, rose 0.61 percent or 103.55 points to 17,079.80.
The benchmark BSE Sensex was up 611.55 points or 1.09 percent and finished at 56,930.56 on Wednesday; while the broader NSE Nifty was up 184.60 points or 1.10 percent to 16,955.45.

Future Retail: Amazon.com Inc is suing the enforcement directorate in an attempt to quash an investigation into one of its 2019 deals, according to a court filing seen by Reuters news agency. ED has been investigating Amazon’s $200 million investment in India’s Future Group for months for suspected violations of foreign investment laws.
Sea entertainment: Sony Pictures Networks India Pvt Ltd (SPNI) and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) have said they have signed definitive agreements for their merger following the conclusion of an exclusive negotiation period during which both parties conducted mutual due diligence.
MedPlus Health: Shares of the pharmacy chain will trade on the stock exchanges today. MedPlus Health Services’ initial public offering (IPO) was subscribed for 52.59 times on its last day of issuance, which closed on December 15.
Kotak Mahindra Bank: The private lender’s arm – Kotak Mahindra Prime – has acquired the passenger car financing portfolio from Ford Motor Company’s existing lending platform for an undisclosed amount.
Vedanta: The company plans to raise up to Rs 1,000 crore through non-convertible bonds (NCDs). In this regard, the company is holding a meeting of the duly constituted committee of directors next week, Vedanta Ltd said in an application to the BSE.
