India’s trade deficit rose to $21.19 billion in February, according to preliminary data released by the government on Wednesday.
Exports rose to $33.81 billion, from $27.63 billion a year earlier, while imports rose to $55.01 billion, from $40.75 billion in the same period last year.
Imports also rose by about 35 percent in February to $55 billion.
“Exports of goods from India amounted to $374.05 billion in April 2021-February 2022, up 45.80 percent from $256.55 billion in April 2020-February 2021,” said a statesman from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. trade.
Imports during the 11-month period rose 59.21 percent to $550.12 billion.
