Meet Anil Pradhan from Odisha who returned to his village after completing his education so he could introduce children to the next episode of ‘OMG! Yeh Mera India’ next Monday, March 7 at 8pm, on HistoryTV18 only. The eighth season of the trendsetting original factual entertainment series continues to deliver on its promise to send viewers “OMG!” to be called out. every Monday at 8pm with compelling, inspiring stories about special Indians and their incredible talents.
Anil, from Baral, Odisha, studied civil engineering in Bhubaneswar and then it dawned on him that practical learning helped with a deeper understanding than reading books. He returned to his village to set up the Young Tinker Academy where children learn their curriculum in very unique classes such as ‘Kabaad Se Jugaad’ which encourages innovative use of scrap metal to make useful products, ‘Zor Ka Jhatka’ where electronics and IT knowledge is used to build smart products and ‘Tod Phod Jod’ where children learn to take electrical appliances apart to understand how they work. He has trained more than 15,000 students to date. Not only has his initiative won him many awards, many students have also won awards for their innovations.
