A left-handed batter with a talisman, Gayle is a popular figure in India, primarily due to his offensive batting style and close association with the Indian Premier League (IPL).
The 42-year-old played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL. However, his best performance was reserved for RCB, where he played 91 games and scored 3420 runs with a strike rate of 154.40. He is RCB’s third highest points scorer behind Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers.
“The Universe Boss”, as he likes to call himself, was last seen in action in the IPL for Punjab Kings.

However, fans won’t get a chance to see Gayle’s big sixs again in the IPL as the lead-off hitter’s name is reportedly not on this year’s auction list.
Gayle has represented the West Indies in 103 tests, 301 ODIs and 79 T20Is in a stellar career. He has yet to announce his official retirement from international cricket.
