Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju congratulated the Indian women’s hockey team on Saturday on winning a bronze medal at the Women’s Asia Cup 2022 in Muscat, Oman. India defeated China 2-0, where goals from Sharmila Devi (13′) and Gurjit Kaur (19′) helped the Savita-led team end the continental tournament with third place.
“Congratulations to the Indian women’s hockey team on winning the bronze medal in the Women’s Asia Cup 2022 after beating China 2-0. The whole country is proud of their achievement. May the team bring more laurels to India,” Kiren tweeted Rijiju.

It was a neck-and-neck start to the game, with both teams trying to penetrate each other’s conspicuous circle, showing good attacking and defensive skills. Both India and China created potential scoring opportunities and even earned Penalty Corners, but both teams missed converting them.
