Yolélé, the online African food market of chef Pierre Thiam, which sells cookbooks and many fonio products – chips, pilaf, flour – has introduced very practical and eye-catching tea towels, based on a print by the graphic artist Paula Scher. They are 16 1/2 by 24 inches, made from organic fair-trade cotton with a home-spun feel, and are printed in yellow or vermilion with the names of African countries. They do an unparalleled job of shining glassware or wrapping washed salad greens to dry. And of course you can also use them as generous napkins.
