Berlin:
Rescuers found another body in the rubble of a train that derailed in southern Germany on Friday, bringing the total death toll to five, police said on Saturday.
Another 44 people were injured in the derailment, local police tweeted, and some suffered serious injuries.
After several failed attempts, cranes managed to lift at least one wagon from the train that had rolled off the rails on Saturday. Regional and national politicians visited the site and expressed their shock.
Officials are still investigating the cause of the derailment in the picturesque mountainous area north of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Bavaria.
