At least five people were injured when a gunfight and knife fight broke out early Monday at the open-air nightclub Opium in Marbella, southern Spain.
Two of the victims are in intensive care, according to local emergency services.
The national police are investigating the incident that took place shortly after 1 a.m. The alleged gunman is in police custody with several stab wounds at Costa del Sol hospital.
Two of the four others who were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds are in intensive care.
Police have also arrested another suspect, a 26-year-old man who allegedly accompanied the gunman.
One of the most seriously injured victims is a 32-year-old woman, according to the local newspaper Diario SUR. She has a gunshot wound to the abdominal and pelvic region and required surgery and is in serious condition.
