Islamabad:
Six people were killed and three injured in an armed clash in Balochistan’s Kacchi area, Dawn reported.
The officials said the clash took place between tribesmen of the Abro and Lehri tribes.
The armed men from the two tribes took positions opposite each other and started firing, which continued for a while and resulted in six deaths on both sides, they added, as reported by Dawn.
A large unit of the Levies Force and Kachhi Deputy Commissioner Jahandad Khan Mandokhail rushed to the area to clear the trenches of the armed men of the two tribes.
“The cause of the armed clash is reportedly a land dispute between the two tribes, which caused a bloody clash that claimed six lives,” Levies Force officials said.
While Information Minister Jan Achakzai confirmed the clash, he said Frontier Corps personnel had been deployed to the affected area and took control, helping the local government prevent further violence, Dawn reported.
