Aid convoys that had been waiting in the Egyptian town of El Arish on Tuesday headed towards the Rafah border crossing with the Palestinian enclave of Gaza, aid officials said.
“We have arrived at the terminal and are now waiting for the next step,” said Heba Rashed, who heads the Mersal aid group.
Hundreds of trucks lined the coastal road for the 25-mile (40-kilometer) journey to Rafah, other emergency officials said.
