A security guard was shot Saturday during a high school football game while trying to break up a fight, police said. He was shot in the back of the head.
The unidentified man was shot outside the Proctor High School stadium in Utica, New York, on Saturday, September 9, around 4:10 p.m. Michael Curley, Fox news reported.
a video The internet has surfaced a group of people fighting on the sidewalk when two shots rang out. One of the two guards trying to separate the groups fell into the compound after being hit by one of the flying bullets.
Utica Police are on scene at Proctor High School in reference to a confirmed shooting incident.
One victim was affected and all students at the game are safe and accounted for.

The guard was rushed to hospital, where he remains in critical condition New York Post reported.
According to Utica Police Chief Mark Williams, the group was turned away from the varsity game against nearby Binghamton High School by another member of the school’s law enforcement just before the shooting.
“He suspected something was wrong with this group and he refused to lead the way into the stadium,” Williams said.
Police said a lone gunman was responsible for the violent escalation. The motive for the battle remains unclear.
