Moscow, Russia:
Five people were injured in a drone strike on the Russian fleet in the Crimean port of Sevastopol on Sunday, Mayor of the annexed city Mikhail Razvozhayev said.
“This morning, Ukrainian nationalists decided to spoil the Day of the Russian Fleet,” he told Telegram, adding that five people, including army staff members, had been injured.
All festivities were “cancelled for security reasons,” he said, asking residents of the city to stay indoors “if possible.”
Major festivities will take place in Russia, including a naval parade in St Petersburg that will be attended by President Vladimir Putin.
Ukrainian forces have in recent weeks recaptured territory occupied by Russian forces since their February 24 invasion.
On Wednesday, Ukrainian attacks partially destroyed a major bridge in the Russian-occupied city of Kherson.
