Shelling struck residential homes and a shopping area in Kiev’s Podil district late on Sunday, killing at least one person, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
“According to the information we have at the moment, several residences and one of the shopping centers [were hit]Klitschko said on his Telegram channel.
He said rescue teams were putting out a major fire at the mall, while other details are yet to be confirmed.
Reuters was unable to immediately verify the messages on the spot.
