Washington:
US President Joe Biden said on Friday he believed the first trucks of aid to Gaza would arrive from Egypt through the Rafah crossing within the next two days.
“I believe that in the next 24 to 48 hours, the first 20 trucks will cross the border,” Biden said as he met European Union leaders at the White House.
Biden said he had a commitment from Israel and the Egyptian president to allow the aid to pass through, but that the “highway needed to be rebuilt and was in very poor condition.”
