Two Molotov cocktails were thrown at the Cuban embassy in Washington DC by an attacker on Sunday evening. Forbes reported. According to the report, Secret Service agents were called to respond to the attack on a busy street in the Adams-Morgan section of the city on Sunday around 8 p.m. Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuba’s foreign minister, called the incident a “terrorist attack” on X.
”The Cuban Embassy in the US was the target of a terrorist attack by an individual who launched two Molotov cocktails. The staff suffered no harm,” Rodriguez said in a post on social media platform X.
“This is the second violent attack on the Cuban diplomatic mission in Washington since April 2020. At that time, an individual fired several bullets into the embassy with an assault rifle. The anti-Cuban groups resort to terrorism when they feel they enjoy impunity, something Cuba has repeatedly warned the US authorities about,” he added.

According to Britannica, the Molotov cocktail is a crude bomb, usually consisting of a bottle filled with a flammable liquid and a fuse that is lit before being thrown. Molotov cocktails take their name from the Russian politician Vyacheslav Molotov, who served as the Soviet Union’s foreign minister during World War II.
These devices, also called petrol or bottle bombs or the poor man’s grenade, were probably first used during the Spanish Civil War (1936-39), according to the South China Morning Mail.
According to AFP, the Sunday evening attack took place hours after Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel returned to Havana after attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York and other activities with Cubans in the US.
There are currently no suspects in custody and the incident is under investigation by the DC Police Department and the U.S. Department of State.
