New Delhi:
The Minister of Defense of Pakistan admitted that he did “dirty work” for the US and the West when he was asked if Islamabad has a history of financing and supports terror groups.
Khwaja M ASIF spoke with the British news network Sky News. During the interview, the minister was asked: “Admit yourself, Mr, that Pakistan has had a long history in supporting and supporting and training and financing these terrorist organizations?” To which the Pakistani minister said: “We have done this dirty work for the US over the past three decades, including the West and the United Kingdom.”
However, he quickly called it a “mistake” and said that Pakistan “suffered.” He added that Pakistan's track record would have been “indisputable” as Islamabad during the Soviet Afghan war and the war led by the US would not have reached the West after 9/11.
The admission of the Pakistani minister to do “dirty work” by supporting terrorists for the US and West comes in the aftermath of the terror attack of Pahalgam in which 26 innocent civilians were shot at a picnic area in Baisaran Valley.
Pakistan supported the United States in the Soviet Afghan war by training and accommodating armed militants to fight the Soviets. The Proxy War between the US and the Soviets gave Pakistan an important role because of the porous border with Afghanistan. The war ended with the Soviet return from Afghanistan and a civil war, who saw the Taliban at the helm for almost a decade until the attacks of the 2001 World Trade Center shake the world.
Al-Qaeda van Osama bin Laden was given shelter by the Taliban in Afghanistan. On September 11, 2001, the terror group carried out the largest attack on American soil, killing 2,996 people. The United States launched a complete invasion of Afghanistan, and again, Pakistan was central to the operations to support the troops led by the US when upgrading the Taliban.
Pakistan, who has supported, financed and trained terrorists on his ground against India, is again accused of supporting the attackers who killed the citizens in Pahalgam. 'The Resistance Front' (TRF), a spur of one of India's most desired terrorists, Hafiz Saeed-guided Lashkar-e-Taiba, has demanded responsibility for the attack.
Sources told DailyExpertNews that the attack was carried out by a hardened group that is affiliated with the forbidden Lashkar-e-Taiba (Let) Terror organization, consisting of mainly foreign terrorists, with the support of local militants, above-ground employees from the valley and under the control of 26/11 Chief Saeed and Lashkar.
According to sources, the group is active in Kashmir for a long time. Security agencies are of the opinion that it has been behind various high -profile attacks in the region, including in Sonamarg, Boota Pathri and Ganderbal.
In October 2024, four people, including two Indian Army staff, were killed in a terror attack on Boota Pathri. In the same month, Sonamarg witnessed a fatal attack on the tunnel building employees in which six workers and a doctor were shot. Hashim Musa, one of the most important accused in the Pahalgam massacre, is considered a suspect in this attack.
