US President Donald Trump is constitutionally forbidden to look for a third term, but his online store started selling merchandise with slogans 'Trump 2028', indicating that the 78-year-old Republican can run again in the following presidential elections in the United States.
The store, run by the Trump family, sells Red Ball Caps with “Trump 2028” written on the front for $ 50 (approximately RS 4,300). The product description says: “Make a statement with this in America Trump 2028 hat.”
Unlike this, the store also sells T-shirts in navy blue and red for $ 36 (approximately RS 3,100) with the slogan “Trump 2028 (rewriting the rules)” on it.
The sale came shortly after Trump, who came to power in January and was also president from 2017 to 2021, said that he made “no joke” about the prospect of looking for a third term.
In an interview with NBC News, he said that many encourage him to run for a third term.
“Many people want me to do it. But I mean, I actually tell them that we still have a long way to go, you know, it's very early in the administration,” Trump said.
The Republican said there were methods that you could do it, which suggests that vice president JD Vance could walk for president and then handed the role of Trump in one way or another.
He also said there were other ways, but refused to work out.
The 22nd change to the American Constitution states that “no one will be elected more than twice in the office of the president.”
Trump also said he would like to run against former President Barack Obama, who also served two installments. “That would be a good one, I would like that.”
Opinion polls have reflected American concern about Trump's handling of important issues during the first 100 days of his second term, including the livelihood and the chaotic rate policy.
