Elon Musk said Mark Zuckerberg “has already succumbed to censorship pressure.”
San Francisco:
Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk on Sunday backed Telegram founder Pavel Durov, saying Mark Zuckerberg should be arrested for “massive child exploitation” on his Instagram account, which is owned by Meta.
The billionaire was responding after Russian-born Pavel Durov, founder and owner of the popular encrypted messaging app Telegram, was arrested in France on multiple charges related to his platform. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
Musk said Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg “has already succumbed to censorship pressure.”
“Instagram has a huge child exploitation problem, but Zuck hasn’t been arrested yet. He’s censoring free speech and giving governments backdoor access to user data,” said the owner of X.
Because he had already succumbed to the pressure of censorship.

He went on to say, “It's 2030 in Europe and you're being executed for liking a meme.”
“It is vital to supporting free speech that you forward X messages to people you know, especially in countries with heavy censorship,” the tech billionaire said.
In February of this year, Zuckerberg apologized to the families of victims of online child sexual abuse during a Senate hearing on Capitol Hill.
The billionaire entrepreneur told parents: “I'm so sorry for everything you've all been through. No one should have to go through the things your families have gone through.”
“And that's why we're investing so much and continuing to work across the sector to make sure no one has to go through what your family did,” he added.
In May of this year, Musk said Zuckerberg-run Meta is “super eager” and takes credit from advertisers who run campaigns on the platform.
X's owner responded that “we're bad at taking credit, and Meta is super greedy about taking credit.”
The rivalry between Mr Musk and Mr Zuckerberg is well known. They were said to have had a 'cage fight' a while ago — dubbed the fight of the century. However, the long-awaited showdown between the duo was cancelled.
