A rodeo bull that escaped from a North Carolina herd quickly became a social media sensation Thursday. Police officials urged locals to exercise caution as the bull had escaped from its confinement and was described as “very dangerous”.
Norwood Police shared a post on its official Facebook handle, writing: “We have received information that a rodeo bull has escaped from livestock on Indian Hill Road.”
“This bull is chocolate colored and extremely aggressive. If you see this bull, call 911 immediately and under no circumstances should you approach the animal as it will chase you,” the department added.
Police officials told a local media outlet WSOC TV that the bull was still missing.
Norwood Police said this was the city’s first encounter with an escaped rodeo bull WSOC TV.
The cattle sale earlier this week had brought in expert cowboys to round up the bull, authorities said Friday.
Marcus Harward of the Stanly County Livestock Market told the outlet they sell 150,000 cattle each year in four states. He claimed the bull had just been in the barn for an hour during their normal 10am sale when it came out and broke through four or five planks.
Mr Harward also stated that they sent drones, horses and dogs to find the bull but were unsuccessful, which is unusual. He thinks they will eventually find him in a pasture, as the bull will search for grain, water, and cows for the video.
