Artificial intelligence has been seamlessly integrated into almost all back-office activities in professional sectors, and has become part of everyday life in various ways through AI-enabled devices. From customer service chats to automated phone calls, many industries already rely on AI-powered solutions. However, AI is now being used for a surprising purpose: simulating angry customers to train customer service executives to remain calm and collected while dealing with irate callers.
According to the daily star, Scientists have built a foul-mouthed bad boy robot to train customer service representatives. The robot rotter can get angry, rage and fire volleys of swear words to teach employees how to handle complaints. US developers Furhat Robotics and audEERING say the machine monster is a 'social robot' that uses artificial intelligence to detect vocal expression. That means it can pick up on people's moods and respond to them. It can be programmed to become extremely angry and swear and swear.
Louis Simeonidis, director of business development at Furhat Robotics, explains the news broadcast, “If we've done our job right, you should be able to walk up to the robot like your friend and communicate and express with the robot the same way you would with other people. And you should be able to to communicate with you as other people would communicate.”
AudEERING founder Florian Eyben added: “We can understand sarcasm and irony, and we can understand that you might not be in the best mood, and that the way you say things matters here.”
A technology expert testing the bot at the Voice & AI Conference in Washington, DC had to calm it down.
