Paris:
French Prime Minister Michel Barnier said on Tuesday it was possible his government could survive a vote of no confidence in parliament, sparking a possible “reflex of responsibility” among MPs.
“I want this and it is possible. It depends on the parliamentarians… I think it is possible that there is a reflex of responsibility whereby – apart from political differences, differences, the normal contradictions in a democracy – we tell ourselves that there is a greater interest,” said Barnier told French television when asked if there was a chance his government would survive Wednesday's vote.
