The officers in squad formation crossed the border fence to enter Israel and ambush Israeli forces with RPGs and assault rifles. They then moved to a civilian area and started shooting, targeting houses indiscriminately and even shooting at the tire of an ambulance parked in the area.
The officers killed an Israeli who was in the house and then advanced after reloading their weapon with a new magazine and breaking into a house. When the gunmen entered the house, the phone on the dining room table was still unlocked and the lights were on. The Hamas gunmen searched the entire house with their Kalshnikovs looking for people, but found no one.
The ambush of the Hamas operative ended in his death after Israeli security forces counter-attacked and shot him dead from a hidden location. The man lay on the ground crying and screaming in pain after he was hit.
Israel’s planned ground attack
Hamas’s surprise terror attacks are met by a brutal counter-offensive by Israel on Gaza. Israeli forces previously gave a deadline to more than a million Gazans to flee south before launching a planned ground attack on northern Gaza. The Israeli offensive has raised concerns that a serious humanitarian crisis could emerge in Gaza as a result of the ground assault.
Israel has claimed that Hamas is not allowing Gaza residents to flee to safety and is not using them as human shields against the Israeli counterattack. The Israeli army increased the number to 199 people confirmed kidnapped by Hamas, adding that it would refrain from attacking two roads in the Gaza Strip that have been marked for residents to move south and out of the Gaza Strip. to move away from a possible ground offensive.
More than 2,670 people have been killed in the ongoing bombardment of Gaza, including more than 700 children. Since the horrific attack, more than 1,400 Israelis have been killed and hundreds kidnapped.
