A student from the Indian Origin from the US died in the Bahamas after accidentally fell from a balcony of a hotel, just a few days before he would graduate.
Gaurav Jaisingh was a student at Bentley University, Waltham, Massachusetts and was in the Bahamas for an annual senior class trip when he died in the accident on Sunday.
Jaisingh would graduate later this week.
Bentley University said in a post on X that “it has been a few difficult days and our community feels the emotional toll of the tragic loss of Gaurav Jaisingh '25. Our hearts are going to Gaurav's family and friends. We are planning to honor Gaurav at the non -bredice beginceremony, planned for 17 May.
According to a report in ABC News, Bentley University said in a statement that “we share our deepest condolences with Gaurav's family, friends and loved ones. While the local authorities are investigating, Gaurav seems to have accidentally fallen from a balcony.” “We will share more information if available with regard to the privacy of his family.” said it.
“This is a huge tragedy for our community. Bentley offers resources for those affected and encourages everyone who needs support to contact the university's advice center,” added.
The ABC News Report said that Jaisingh was a resident of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and was a member of Delta Sigma Pi -Brotherhood and the South Asian Students Association of the school.
The police of Royal Bahamas said in a statement that the police started an investigation on 11 May into the circumstances surrounding the death of an adult man on Paradise Island.
According to the first reports, the police said that the victim was in his hotel room somewhere around 10 p.m. with other housemates “when he was reported that he accidentally fell from a balcony at the higher level.
