Iran has fired missiles at Israel and all civilians in the country are in bomb shelters, the Israeli army said on Tuesday. The attack comes amid Israel's ground offensive in Lebanon against Hezbollah and days after the militant group's commander, Hassan Nasrallah, and a top official of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps were killed in Israeli strikes in Beirut.
Israel's Foreign Ministry also quoted the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and said at 10:08 PM IST that the rockets were fired “a short time ago.” The launch was confirmed by Iran's official IRNA news agency, which said the country had launched “a missile attack on Tel Aviv.” Reuters news agency quoted Israeli media as saying as many as 100 rockets had been launched.

“A short time ago, missiles were launched from Iran towards the state of Israel. Israelis are instructed to remain alert and closely follow the instructions of the Home Front Command,” the Israeli Foreign Ministry handle said in a post on X.
“In the past few minutes, the Home Front Command has distributed life-saving instructions in various areas of the country. The IDF does and will do whatever is necessary to protect the citizens of the State of Israel,” the report said.
News of the missile launch came shortly after reports of a suspected “terror” shooting in Israel's commercial capital Tel Aviv. Police in the city said there were a number of casualties, while local media reported at least four people were seriously injured.
