For the first time in her life, friends star Jennifer Aniston has opened up about a very personal chapter in her life. In a cover story published in To tempt on November 9, the actor revealed that “she was trying to conceive” many years ago and was undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) and several fertility attempts. The actor revealed that despite what people may think about her supposedly childless lifestyle, she actually tried to have a baby several years ago but couldn’t. Ms Aniston did not reveal the exact age she underwent IVF, but pointed out that it was during her “late 30s, 40s.”
Opening up about her emotional fertility journey, she told Allure“I was trying to get pregnant. It was a challenging road for me, the road of making babies.” As a public figure, the actor also spoke about the challenges she faced while trying to have a baby, including intensive media scrutiny.
Since she became a star, Hollywood media has been obsessed with her personal life, including her two previous marriages to Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux respectively, and the fact that she has remained childless.
“All those years and years and years of speculation… It was really hard. I went through IVF, drank Chinese tea, you name it. I threw everything on it. I would have given everything if someone had told me,” Freeze your eggs. Do yourself a favor.” You just don’t think so. So here I am today. The ship has sailed,” she added.
The star also said the pregnancy rumors and speculation didn’t upset her, rather suggesting she was “selfish” for focusing on her career and not having children. However, Ms Aniston said she has “zero regrets” and is “actually feeling a bit of relief now”. She added that she is in a great phase of her life and “proud of my wrinkles and gray hair.”
“I’ve spent so many years protecting my story about IVF. “I’m so protective of these parts because I feel like there’s so little I can keep to myself. The [world] makes stories that aren’t true, so I might as well tell the truth. I feel like I’m coming out of hibernation. I have nothing to hide,” she concluded.
The 53-year-old actor has been a fan favorite since she captured hearts with her portrayal of Rachel Green in the popular NBC sitcom friends. She is currently on the Apple TV+ series “The Morning Show”.
