Imran Khan’s party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, gets a vote of no confidence in the National Assembly

Pakistan’s opposition party Shahbaz Sharif, the president of Pakistan’s Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), urged people to overthrow Prime Minister Imran Khan’s corrupt government in order to save Pakistan.
Shahbaz Sharif has asked the people to “overthrow this corrupt government to save the future of the nation,” Geo News reported.
Addressing the public through a video message, Mr. Sharif urged people to join the “Mehngai Mukao March” joint protest against Pakistan’s Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led government.
He said he wanted to convey the important message of Nawaz Sharif to the nation. He further criticized the PTI-led government for alleged worst corruption, poverty, unemployment and cruel behavior towards the common man.
Earlier on Saturday, the PML-N’s “Mehngai Mukao March” started from Lahore, where the party’s vice president, Maryam Nawaz, said the Imran Khan-led government “has already been deposed” and that the opposition is had gone to Islamabad to say “goodbye” to the Prime Minister.
“(Prime Minister) Imran Khan’s government has left, he shouts every day. The government has left, we are going to say goodbye to it,” Maryam said, according to Geo News.
The PML-N leader said the “people” are repeating the name of party supremo Nawaz Sharif because of “incompetent government and inflation”.
“The government has only said goodbye. He begs (Imran Khan) but nothing will happen now,” said the PML-N leader. She added that the move to oust Prime Minister Imran was taken by the government and not the opposition.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani Prime Minister is all set for his rally, where he will address the public around 4 p.m. ahead of the opposition’s vote of no confidence in the National Assembly.
Imran Khan’s party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, must table a vote of no confidence in the National Assembly. The hearing will be held on March 28.
The Pakistan National Assembly has a total strength of 342 members, with a majority of 172. The PTI-led coalition was formed with the support of 179 members, with Imran Khan’s PTI having 155 members, and four key allies Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM -P), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) and Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) with seven, five, five and three members respectively.
