About a hundred vehicles were involved in a multi-vehicle accident in Kazakhstan
In Kazakhstan, about 100 vehicles were involved in a multi-vehicle accident on the Astana-Shchuchinsk road in the Akmola region, according to Kazinform News Agency.
According to the region's police, the road accident occurred on January 3 around 1:30 pm between the villages of Kogam and Karatal in Birzhan Sal district.
The crash was the result of a snowstorm and there is no information on casualties or injuries so far. Police say vehicle evacuations are underway and emergency services are also on the scene.

According to KazAvtoJol, the national highway management operator, failure to adhere to speed limits and safe distances led to the massive accident.
About 22 road vehicles and two tractors are at the scene of the accident and traffic is restricted for all types of vehicles.
In addition, emergency services warned of possible bad weather conditions and recommended avoiding road trips, especially on country roads.
