Jeddah, Saudi -Arabia:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah on Tuesday, where the two leaders held wide bilateral conversations. Six crucial agreements were signed after the hours of meeting between the two leaders. PM Modi, who also had to attend a state dinner and appealed to the Indian community, could not do this if he purchased his visit about the terror attack in Kashmir where 26 people, many of them left tourists.
The visit of PM Modi to Saudi Arabia was strategically important. The two countries work to raise their tires to a completely new level. New Delhi and Riyad are already strategic partners in the region and are also important defense partners. In the meeting of Tuesday, the two parties created two new ministerial committees, including one in the defense, and agreed to work together on setting up two refineries in India.
Even before PM Modi landed earlier on Monday in Jeddah, his plane – Air India One – was accompanied by various Saudi Air Force F -15 hunters in a symbolic gesture of respect that only the nearest strategic allies were awarded. The gesture of the Royal Saudi air power also emphasizes the ever-in-depth defense cooperation between the two countries.
Upon his arrival, the Prime Minister received a greeting from 21 Gun when members of the Indian community sang “Saare Jahan Se Achha“. Later in the day, PM Modi received a ceremonially welcome to the Al Salam Palace (Palace of Peace), where he was received by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.
Referring to Saudi crown prince Mohammed bin Salman as “my brother”, Premier Modi, who was the first Indian prime minister in more than 40 years to visit Jeddah, said: “Landed in Jeddah, Saudi -Aarabia. This visit will strengthen the friendship between India and Saudi -Arabia.”
In an interview with Arab News, Prime Minister Modi Saudi Arabia called “a familiar friend, strategic ally and one of the most appreciated partners of India”, adding that the India-Saudi partnership has “unlimited potential and possibilities”.
PM Modi and the Saudi crown prince subsequently provided the second meeting of the Saudi-India Strategic Partnership Council, founded during the visit of Premier Modi, which was intended to strengthen the bilateral and strategic ties between the two nations.
During the meeting, the two world leaders signed six important similarities in the field of defense and space, energy, health, science and scientific research, culture and advanced technology. The bilateral conversations also investigated investment opportunities in India and improving the economic and business ties between the two countries. PM Modi is said to have also discussed the Hajj pilgrimage and was looking for a higher quota for Indian pilgrims.
During the meeting, Saudi -Kroonprins Mohammad bin Salman expressed his fear about the terror attack in Kashmir, and said that Saudi Arabia is at India and will provide any support needed in this time of sorrow.
In addition to the strategic council meeting and bilateral conversations, PM Modi was to visit a factory and to communicate with Indian employees, but that is now canceled together with the Diaspora event that was planned for tomorrow.
The prime minister left directly for the airport after his bilateral meeting with the crown prince and is expected to come to New Delhi early on Wednesday morning. Earlier in the day he had spoken with Minister of the Interior Amit Shah to make up the situation in Jammu and Kashmir. The prime minister has called for a top meeting on the terror attack on his arrival.
