Sydney, Australia:
Passengers on board a flight to Tokyo last week got more in-flight entertainment than they expected last week when an explicit film with sex talk and explicit images was broadcast on every screen.
Technical issues meant individual film selection was unavailable on a Qantas flight from Sydney to Haneda, forcing the crew to select one film to be broadcast to the entire cabin.
Their choice of Dakota Johnson and Sean Penn's racy drama “Daddio” was a surprise to many, and to the airline, which apologized on Tuesday.
According to one review, the film contains “references to oral sex, masturbation” and a “brief but clear photo of an erect penis on the phone screen. Photos of a woman's naked breasts. Explicit sex-related dialogue and text messages”.
“The film was clearly not suitable for viewing throughout the flight and we sincerely apologize to customers for this experience,” a Qantas spokesperson said.
Once the error was clear, “all screens were changed to a family-friendly movie for the remainder of the flight,” Qantas added.
“We look at how the film was selected.”
