Sonnie Stow was hit by a patrol car and his left leg was broken.
A man speeding a stolen motorcycle is suing police in England after being bitten by a police dog. According to The TelegraphSonnie Stow, 24, was on the run from the scene of the violence last month when the incident took place. He was knocked down by two police dogs, one of which even bit Stow in the stomach. Police said he stole a 125cc Benelli motorcycle from a car park in Hull, East Yorkshire, and was showing it off at a local Burger King branch.
His assistant Dawid Krajzer was riding another bicycle parked outside the restaurant. The owner came out to confront the man and a fight soon ensued.
Stow threatened the man and when Krajzer got off the bike, it fell on the restaurant customer and broke his leg. The Telegraph said in his report.
The duo then escaped at the scene and were chased by police. Stow tried to get away by driving on the footpath and the wrong side of the road.
He was hit by a patrol car and his left leg was broken. Two police dogs then tackled Stow and landed a “considerable bite” on his abdomen, Stow later told a Crown Court in Hull.
He required stitches and suffered an open wound that required regular care.
Stow’s attorney, Julia Braggs, said it was a very unpleasant attempted robbery and that her client accepted his part in it. “He is very sorry for the injury that was caused. It was not a planned incident,” she told the court.
The court sentenced Stow to four and a half years and a driving ban of three years and three months Emphatically.
