Taylor Swift’s bodyguard who protected her during the summer leg of her Eras Tour has returned to his home country of Israel to fight for his country against Hamas operatives. According to The independentthe bodyguard, whose identity has not been revealed, decided to fly back home and join the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reserves after seeing the deadly attacks on Israeli civilians by Hamas. He left the United States after the first attack occurred on October 7.
The news first broke when Israeli journalist Eran Swisa saw the guard fighting in the IDF. Variety magazine later confirmed that the guard had indeed traveled to Israel to join the IDF reserves. Mr Swisa told the newspaper that the man was born on a kibbutz in Israel before moving to America for work.
“I have a pretty amazing life in the US,” Ms. Swift’s former security guard told Swisa in a statement he shared with Variety. “I have a great dream job that I love, great friends that I call family and a very comfortable home. I don’t HAVE to come here… But I couldn’t stand on the sidelines while families are slaughtered and burned alive in their homes!!! Just because they are Jewish or because they are Israelis,” the bodyguard added.

He also condemned Hamas operatives in his statement and urged others to stand with Israel. “While one side protects babies, children and the elderly, the other side uses them as a human shield!!! It would be an insult to animals around the world to call them ‘animals’, but they are not human beings,” he said. from Hamas.
“They killed and slaughtered families in their beds, next to those of their relatives [sic] pets!!!! And then they burned down the houses!!!! Try to imagine this happening in your own neighborhood, to your neighbors or to a family you know,” the guard added.
Israel was overrun by Hamas last weekend when the group attacked its citizens. In response, Israel also launched airstrikes on the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip and even cut off food and electricity supplies to the region.
On Tuesday, the Israeli military said about 500,000 Israelis have been evacuated and displaced in the 10 days since Hamas unleashed the bloodiest attack in the country’s history. By contrast, Israel’s airstrikes have claimed at least 2,750 lives in Gaza.
