New Delhi:
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the New Delhi Declaration at the G20 summit is about the awakening of the Global South, which is “no longer willing” to be lectured about Russia adhering to the “ Zelenskyy formula”.

“When they agreed to that, maybe it was the voice of their conscience. To be honest, we didn’t expect that. We were 100 percent prepared to defend our fair wording of the text, and it was really fair and just,” he said. said.
He further said that the main content of the statement is all about the awakening of the South and one should not isolate the paragraph on the war between Russia and Ukraine.
“Let me emphasize that we cannot isolate that paragraph (on Ukraine and Russia) from the rest of the work on the statement. The main content of the declaration this year is all about the awakening of the Global South and the consolidation of the Global South. that is truly willing for the G20 to commit to its core objectives,” said Mr Lavrov.
The Russian Foreign Minister added that the South is “unwilling” to force Russia to adhere to the “Zelenskyy formula” to end the conflict.
“The Global South is no longer willing to be lectured. They don’t want to hear about Russia forcing Russia to comply with the Zelenskyy formula. I don’t want to talk about it, this formula is unrealistic. This approach is simple “It is disrespectful to the developing countries… sane people cannot say such things. I think this is nothing but another manifestation of neo-colonialism,” he further added.

“There is still a long way to go, but this Summit has been a milestone… I would also like to mention the active role of the Indian Presidency which, for the first time in history, has truly consolidated the G20 countries of the Global South. BRICS Partners – Brazil, India, China and South Africa have been particularly active and thanks to these consolidated positions that the countries of the South are taking to uphold and protect their legitimate interests, he said.
“I think a healthy solution has been found in the statement on the need to strive for a clear and fair balance of interests. It is one of the good objectives and we are already on the right track. In turn, we will continue to strengthen these. positive trends, including during the Brazilian presidency next year and in 2025 during the presidency of South Africa,” he added.
