The Israeli army said 250 hostages had been rescued.
New Delhi:
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) today released footage showing an elite unit rescuing more than 250 hostages near the Gaza security fence. Sixty Hamas terrorists were also killed when the Israeli army unit “Shayetet 13” stormed the Sufa outpost.
The IDF said 250 hostages were rescued, while “more than 60 Hamas terrorists were neutralized and 26 apprehended, including Muhammad Abu A’ali, the deputy commander of Hamas’ Southern Marine Division.”
In the released video, Israeli soldiers can be seen entering the building and gunshots can be heard. A soldier is seen firing from cover and another throws a grenade at the outpost.

“Come on, light them. Clear, clear,” a soldier can be heard as they scan the building. Another soldier is seen escorting a hostage out of the bunker. He is held against the wall. “Give him a gun. I got it,” he says.

The soldiers then entered the bunker and assured the hostages that they are here to ‘rescue’ them and whether they need ‘first aid’.
Later in the footage, soldiers are seen carrying a stretcher.
Today marks the seventh day of the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, with peace proposals nowhere on the table. At least 1,200 people have been killed in Israel and another 1,400 in the Gaza Strip since the war began. In addition, the bodies of 1,500 Hamas operatives have been found on Israeli soil, the government claims.
The unit was deployed to the Gaza security fence area on October 7 in a concerted effort to regain control of Sufa’s military post.
