Washington:
Hollywood actor Amber Heard stated in a recent interview that notes taken by her therapist, to whom she reported the abuse, would have changed the verdict in her defamation case against ex-husband Johnny Depp.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the statement about the notes, which were not allowed at the trial, was made by her during an interview with a magazine.
She said, “There’s a binder [of] years of notes dating back to 2011 from the very beginning of my relationship made by my doctor.”
In Amber Heard’s full interview about NBC News’ trial with Savannah Guthrie, the actor said the notes would have corroborated claims that Johnny Depp abused her, including an incident in 2013 where she told her therapist that Johnny Depp was against her. threw a wall and threatened to kill her.
“I’m talking about what happened to me in real time. She’s simultaneously taking notes of what’s happening,” Heard said.
Savannah Guthrie said they went through the notes and they showed that “Amber spoke about physical abuse as early as 2012. In January of that year, she told her therapist Johnny Depp that she beat her and threw her to the floor. Eight months later that.” , tore her nightgown, threw her on the bed, and in 2013 he threw her against a wall and threatened to kill her.”
The Hollywood Reporter reported that Johnny Depp’s spokesperson has denied the physical abuse allegations against Amber Heard, saying: “It is unfortunate that the defendant and her team are repeating and rethinking and re-pending the cases already decided by the court. to make.”
After the recent six-week trial in Fairfax County, Virginia, a seven-member jury reached a verdict on June 1 that proved Johnny Depp proved Amber Heard defamed him in the 2018 op-ed. Johnny Depp has maintained that he never assaulted Amber Heard, claiming she physically hurt him.
The jury awarded Johnny Depp $15 million in damages, but Amber Heard is only required to pay $10.35 million because of a Virginia law that limits punitive damages (the judge reduced the amount). In her counterclaim, Amber Heard won one of three defamation counts and was awarded $2 million in damages, People magazine reported.
