Washington:
President Donald Trump withdrew the right -wing FireBrand Elise Stefanik as his candidate for the American ambassador in the United Nations on Thursday, while Republican concerned about keeping their narrow majority in the congress.
New York's congress is only the second pick of Trump Cabinet not to continue after Matt Gaetz withdrew from running to become attorney general after accusations of sexual misconduct.
Stefanik is a vocal Trump all-way and pro-Israel steadfast.
“With a very tight majority, I don't want to take a chance for someone else who runs for Elise's chair” in the house of delegates, Trump said on his truth of the truth.
Trump said it was “essential that we maintain every Republican seat in the congress.”
“The people love Elise and with her we have nothing to worry about.
The president said he had asked Stefanik to stay in the congress and “get to the leadership team of the house again”, although he did not say in what capacity.
Republicans won both the house and the Senate in the November 2024 elections, which brought Trump back to the White House, but they have a very tight lead in the lower room.
They check the house with 218 seats to 213, making them only a small margin and make it difficult to adopt the most important legislation.
Two crucial special elections will be held on April 1 to fill the seats that have been abandoned by Mike Waltz, who is now Trump's National Security Advisor and Gaetz.
Stefanik has been effective in Limbo since the nomination of Trump and holds its place in the house for a number of important voices.
A fire fire that was considered moderate before the Trump era is seen as one of the most vocal supporters in the congress of both Israel and the American Jewish causes.
In January she stuck against “anti -Semitic rot” in the United Nations when she was grilled by senators during her confirmation.
She also called for the UN reform to ensure that his tax dollars do not “support entities that are contrary to American interests, anti -Semitic or concerning fraud, corruption or terrorism.”
During that hearing, Stefanik noted that she voted to defend UNRWA, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees.
Former President Joe Biden stopped his American financing for accusations that members were possibly involved in the Hamas attacks of 7 October.
Stefanik also revealed that she agreed with the extreme right-wing Israeli ministers who believe that Israel has a “biblical right to the entire western Jordoever” but to be adopted whether she supported the Palestinian self-determination.
