Washington:
President Donald Trump said on Thursday that “no US soldiers would be needed” in his Gaza proposal, days after he announced that the United States could “take over” and “possess” the Gaza Strip.
“No soldiers would be needed by the US! Stability for the region would rule !!!” He said in an early morning post on his social social platform.
Earlier this week Donald Trump announced while the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was visiting that “the US will take over the Gaza Strip.”
“We will also do a work with it. We will possess it,” he told audible panting during the press conference, and offered few details about how the United States could remove more than two million Palestinians or check the territory battered by war.
His administration seemed to return on this proposal on Wednesday after being confronted with a wave of criticism from Palestinians, Arab governments and world leaders.
Trump's State Secretary Marco Rubio said that the idea “was not meant to be hostile,” while the White House said there was no dedication to send us troops.
In his Thursday morning Post, Donald Trump said: “The Gaza Strip would be transferred to the United States by Israel at the end of fighting.”
He added that the Palestinians “would have been resettled in distant and more beautiful communities, with new and modern houses, in the region.”
