Doha:
Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem warned on Thursday that the plan of US President Donald Trump to take over Gaza and move his population a “explanation of the intention of” occupied Palestinian territory.
The Palestinian group also called for “an urgent Arabian top to confront the displacement” by Palestinians from Gaza, Qassem said in a statement.
In the meantime, Trump doubled the shock plan that he announced for the first time on Tuesday and on his proposal to resettle two million Palestinians elsewhere in the middle.
“The Gaza Strip would be transferred by Israel to the United States by Israel at the end of fighting,” Trump said on his social network.
“No soldiers would be needed by the US! Stability for the region would rule !!!”
The Hamas spokesperson condemned Trump's statements as “absolutely unacceptable”.
“Gaza is for his people and they will not leave,” said Qassem.
“We call for the convening of an Arab Arabian top to confront the movement project,” he added.
“Trump's comments about Washington who take control of Gaza are an open explanation of intention to occupy the territory.
“We don't need any country to run the Gaza strip and we do not accept the replacement of one occupation by another.
“We call on the Arab peoples and international organizations to take strong action to reject the Trump project.”
