Washington:
The popularity of US President Donald Trump has sunk since his dissolute return to the White House, the polls showed Wednesday, where Americans criticize him about important issues of economy and immigration.
The Republican has a stream of action unleashed – from major rates to immigration ranges – to deliver what he regards as an overwhelming mandate of American voters.
But an economist/yougov survey found a downward trend in the approval classification of Trump, with 41 percent of Americans now signaling support compared to about half in January.
Another poll, by Pew Research Center, discovered that Trump's task rating has fallen from 47 percent in February to 40 percent today- considerably lower than the score of his predecessor Joe Biden of 59 percent in April 2021.
In general, Trump's average approval rating of 45 percent in his first three months is in office among all other presidents after the Second World War that were chosen in the United States, Gallup said last week.
Results also show that Americans lose confidence in Trump's ability to tackle important issues such as the economy.
The voters last year considered the 78-year-old billionaire so strong for the economy, but his imposition of major rates for trading partners confused the world markets this month.
According to the Economist/YouGOV survey, around 54 percent of Americans now feel that the economy is getting worse compared to 37 percent in January.
The approval classification of Trump is in particular lagging about the costs of living, according to a study by Reuters/Ipsos, in which only 31 percent of Americans approved his performance on that issue.
Inflation was a hot topic in the November elections, where Trump promised to lower prizes as president.
He has a similar downward trend on immigration- seen another typically strong area for Trump, who has led a hardline deceport strategy that is aimed at migrants without papers that have moved him in legal fights with the courts.
The survey of the Economist/Yougov showed that 45 percent of Americans approve how Trump deals with immigration compared to 50 percent two weeks ago.
Polls also show a decrease in support in a number of important demography that Trump helped by choosing him for democratic election rival Kamala Harris.
They include Spanish voters, whose approval score has fallen from 36 percent at the beginning of February to 27 percent, according to the Pew Poll.
