Washington:
The White House said on Monday it supported the right of the Chinese people to protest peacefully against COVID-19 lockdowns and saw no supply chain impact from the demonstrations.
“People should be given the right to assemble and protest peacefully against policies, laws or regulations… that they object to,” White House national security spokesman John Kirby told reporters. “The White House supports the right to peaceful protest.”
Kirby also said the United States had not received requests from China for COVID-19 vaccines.
