Ukraine is waiting for a decision from Berlin on the delivery of Leopard 2 tanks.

The Kremlin said on Wednesday that if Western countries supply Ukraine with heavy tanks, they will be destroyed on the battlefield, while Kiev awaits a decision from Berlin on the supply of Leopard 2 tanks.
“Technologically, this is a failed plan. This is an overestimation of the potential this will add to the Ukrainian military,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
“These tanks burn like the rest. They’re just very expensive.’
The Kremlin has issued mixed responses to plans by Kiev’s allies to support Ukrainian troops with Leopard-model tanks.
Peskov said earlier this week that any German supply of tanks to Ukraine would leave a “lasting mark” on bilateral relations between Moscow and Berlin.
He has previously said that Western weapons in Ukraine only prolong the conflict and ultimately increase the suffering of Ukrainian citizens.
Berlin was expected to announce a decision later on Wednesday on whether other countries holding leopard stocks would be allowed to send them to Kiev.
