All government schools under the Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) will remain closed during winter holidays from January 1 to January 12, 2023. Remedial classes will be held from January 2 to January 14 for grades 9 to 12, the Delhi government has announced .
Meanwhile, school hours in several districts of Uttar Pradesh have been changed by the government due to extremely cold weather and heavy fog. Ghaziabad district administration, Lucknow has issued an order announcing the change of school hours. Schools in Lucknow now start at 10am and continue until 3pm till December 31st.

Similarly, the district magistrate of Ghaziabad ordered all primary and secondary schools, madrasa education boards, Sanskrit schools and public schools for grades 1 to 12 to start at 9 am to ensure the safety of students after several accidents reported due to poor visibility.
Also in Rajasthan, schools will be closed for 12 days during winter. The winter holidays in the state will start from December 25 and continue until January 5, 2023. This year, the Board of Rajasthan or RBSE has increased the number of days in winter holidays and reduced the number of holidays in summer holidays.

Schools in Upper Punjab will be closed from 3 to 13 January 2023 while in Central and South Punjab winter holidays will be held from 23 December 2022 to 6 January 2023. On the other hand, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann had earlier ordered to of schools in the state, with classes starting December 21-31 at 10 a.m. Times for schools in Haryana changed early this month, with classes starting at 9:30am.
