Shubham is a graduate of IIT Kanpur.
Shubham, who took second place in the CGPSC PCS 2022 exam, has an IAS brother and an IPS sister-in-law.
We often hear success stories of individuals working their way up to become government officials. In today’s article we will talk not only about an individual, but about a whole family, many of whose members are high-ranking officials. This story is about a family from Chhattisgarh state. Shubham Dev, a resident of Ambikapur, obtained the second position in the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) PCS Recruitment 2022 examination. Before that, he worked as a deputy engineer. The inspiration to appear before Shubham and pass the CGPSC PCS 2022 exam came from his IAS brother Rahul Dev and IPS sister-in-law Bhavna Gupta.
Both Rahul and Bhavna are IAS and IPS from 2014 batch. Currently, Bhavna Gupta is the SP of Bemetara district and Rahul Dev is the district collector of Mungeli district. On the other hand, Shubham’s mother is a teacher and his father is a Block Education Officer in Surguja district. Shubham will soon carry on the family legacy by taking on the mantle of deputy collector.
Shubham, who is also an engineering graduate from IIT Kanpur, had made it through the application round of the 2021 UPSC CSE exam but missed the mark by just a few points. But he qualified for the UPSC Prelims exam this year and has turned his focus to the UPSC Mains exam. Shubham said that he started preparing for UPSC right after his B.Tech degree from IIT Kanpur in 2017.
He tried in the 2018-2019 academic year, but failed to pass the UPSC Prelims. He managed to pass the exams next year and even passed the application round last year, but failed to crack it. Now he is waiting for the UPSC leadership which will be held from September 15 to 24. Shubham added that taking the exams came naturally to him as he had inspiration within the family itself.
